The Kruger plant in Trois-Rivières employs a workforce of more than 270 and specializes in the production of recycled containerboard. Equipped with advanced technology, the plant manufactures 360,000 metric tonnes of 100% recycled high-performance linerboard annually.
GDG Environnement notably creates ecological solutions to reduce the presence of biting insects. The company’s ongoing investments in research and development are bearing fruit.
This Trois-Rivières company creates and develops globally distributed refrigeration products that are energyefficient and environmentally-friendly, notably by using natural refrigerants rather than substances harmful to the environment.

INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH CHAIR ON ENVIRONMENT AND BIOTECHNOLOGY (CRIEB)
The Industrial Research Chair on Environment and Biotechnology at UQTR is working to reduce environmental incidents and the ecological footprint of industry. To this end, it is developing better use of wastewater and residues to extract a maximum of biosourced value-added products while responding to the particular needs of industry and society.
RESEARCH CHAIR ON REGIONAL BIOECONOMY AND BIOENERGY (BEE)
The mission of the Chair is to analyze, optimize and apply key technologies to specific local contexts for the advancement of a regional bioeconomy. The ultimate goal is to contribute to and accelerate the socio-economic growth of the targeted regions and the development of the natural resources they contain.
Innofibre, the centre for innovation in cellulosic products, contributes to the technological standing and sustainable development of the paper and biorefining industry in Quebec by supporting biomass product innovation and diversification, and by adapting paper technologies.

IDE TROIS-RIVIÈRES TECHNOCENTRE
Located in the Parc Micro Sciences Trois-Rivières, the Technocentre is an incubator for industrial bioprocessing firms and environmental technology companies.
Its equipment allows for the optimization of bioprocessing and simpler scaling of products with a view to their marketing. On site:
- 8 private laboratories available for rent
- Shared laboratory with basic equipment
- Specialized equipment, including bioreactors from 3.6L to 500L and a sanitary grade filtration unit.
BÉCANCOUR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES INCUBATOR
Located in Bécancour, the incubator specializes in sectors that include environmental technology, bioprocessing, biochemistry and agrotechnology.
A specialized resource is available to advise and guide companies in their product and market development efforts. The incubator also offers several laboratories and an array of state-of-the-art equipment.
